What is the scale of your company to set up regional headquarters? By whom does Yusen Logistics manage the business in China？
Sugioka Masahiro: Yusen Logistics (China) Co., Ltd. has set up branches in total 21 cities across China, with more than 1,400 employees and an annual turnover of about 3 billion yuan. Yusen Logistics China was established in 2000 and is a jointly-owned subsidiary of Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. and NYK (Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha).
Relying on strong global supply chain network of the group, we provide domestic and international customers with seamless international ocean, air transportation, contract logistics and supply chain solutions, serving customers in the fields of automotive, medical, retail, aerospace, technology and food.
Affected by COVID-19 epidemic, the logistics industry around the world is facing an impact. Why did you choose this timing to set up regional headquarters in Shanghai?
Sugioka Masahiro: Truly, the current global epidemic situation is very severe and has a great impact on the global supply chain. As an indispensable part of the whole supply chain, the logistics supply chain is also inevitably impacted accordingly. But once society continues to produce and people need to live on, logistics has its duty to serve the all.
As company's long-term development plans, we are still quite optimistic about China's overall development. Therefore, the formal establishment of the regional headquarters this time also expresses our unwavering confidence in the Chinese market.
After formal establishment of the regional headquarters, what kind of development plans does Yusen Logistics have?
Sugioka Masahiro: After formal establishment of the China regional headquarters in Shanghai for integrated management, Yusen Logistics plans to provide capital operations and financial management, sales and marketing services, employee recruitment training and management, and shared services within the group of the company.
This will help improve management empowerment levels, integrate group resources, better market development, and contribute to the sustainable development of enterprises and society.
